Bringing Microsoft 365 email and collaboration together

The organization’s Microsoft 365 email was managed through GoDaddy, while its Microsoft-hosted Microsoft 365 tenant already supported applications and collaboration. Staff were working across that split environment. The project addressed how email, identities, and core services were managed together.

• Reviewed the migration scope and approved related data.
• Migrated 35 mailboxes and approved related data from the GoDaddy-managed environment.
• Aligned identities and mail routing with the existing Microsoft-hosted tenant.
• Consolidated email and core services into that tenant.

With email and core services together in Microsoft’s hosted tenant, staff have been able to collaborate more. Their use of Microsoft 365 has expanded beyond email, Word, and Excel to include SharePoint, Planner, OneDrive, and Forms.

The outcome of this project is the completed consolidation and the increased collaboration it supports.

Microsoft’s spam filter has been blocking some legitimate messages, including verification emails. This remains an ongoing post-migration tuning item as normal email delivery is monitored and filtering is adjusted.

Bringing email into the organization’s existing Microsoft-hosted environment made it easier to use Microsoft 365 as a shared workplace. The practical result is a consolidated environment and more collaboration across the tools staff already have.
